ISLAMABAD: The leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) have agreed on seat-adjustment for the upcoming elations and initial talks between both the parties on the issue would soon be held, sources told APP.

A source in the PML-Q told APP that the party chief, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain had contacted his JUI-F counterpart Maulana Fazlur Rehman for this purpose and both the leaders had agreed in principle to the idea.

“However, as the Maulana (Fazlur Rehman) has launched a mass contact drive across the country. It has been agreed that initially the matters would be discussed between Syed Qasim Shah (the PML-Q president KP chapter) and Akram Khan Durrani (of the JUI-F),” said the source.

The source added that Hussain wanted to bring all the likeminded political parties on a single platform to get the country out of the crises. He said that for the same purpose the PML-Q chief was also in touch with leaders of some other politico-religious parties including Jamaat-i-Islami (JI), Difa-i-Pakistan Council (DPC) and the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA).

When contacted, Deputy Secretary Information PML-Q Ghulam Mustafa Malik confirmed the contact between Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Maulana Fazlur Rehman and said the party chief was in touch with many politicians with an objective to muster maximum political strength in the upcoming elections.

He said that Hussain believes that no single political party could resolve the predicament faced by the country. In order to get the country out of the challenging situation, the PML chief thought that a collective effort was required, he added.
