KARACHI, Dec 3: Two poachers were sentenced to one-month imprisonment and houbara bustards and partridges seized from them were released into the wild in the presence of independent observers, said a Balochistan forest and wildlife official on Monday.

Lasbella District Forest Officer Maqbool Hassan Dashti told Dawn that wildlife staffers Abdul Sattar and Mohammad Amin caught Akber Naz and Aamir Mustafa and seized seven houbara bustards (two live and five hunted) and 38 partridges (18 live and 20 hunted) from their possession during checking at the Uthal police check post.

He said the poachers were produced in the court of judicial magistrate (Uthal), who on Monday sentenced both poachers to one-month imprisonment.—Staff Reporter
