KARACHI, Nov 14: Zakir Afridi and Gul Khan struck fine half-centuries to inspire Asifabad Sports to a narrow two-wicket victory over Dawood Sports in the seventh NBP-KCCA Premier Cricket League match at the TMC Ground here on Wednesday.
Chasing 218, Asifabad Sports reached their target in the penultimate over for the loss of eight wickets with Zakir hammering three sixes and four boundaries in his 67 off 54 balls, while Gul struck a 48-ball 61 with the aid of four fours and three sixes.
Earlier, Jahangir Shah (66 off 85 balls, three fours and one six), Naved Khan (55 off 77, five boundaries) and Saeed bin Nasir (43 with three fours and one six) were the leading run-getters for Dawood Sports.
Mubashir Ahmed slammed 66 with seven boundaries to help Pak Korangi CC defeat Mohammad Hussain CC by three wickets at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground. Owais Pasta excelled for the losing side an 81-ball 67 that included three fours and a brace of sixes, while former international Sajid Ali contributed 51.
