LAHORE, Oct 31: Police claim to have arrested 146 proclaimed offenders, 174 court absconders and 32 members of 11 gangs of robbers and thieves during Eid holidays.

The operations police spokesman claimed on Wednesday the proclaimed offenders and court absconders were taken into custody when they came to see their families during Eid.

He further said the plan was finalised in this regard on the direction of DIG (Operations) Muhammad Tahir Rai.

He said the police seized looted valuables worth Rs968,000 and illegal weapons from the possession of 32 arrested criminals.

Different police teams also took 88 drug-peddlers and 91 gamblers into custody and seized from them a considerable quantity of narcotics, liquor and stake money. — Staff Reporter
