LAHORE, Oct 18: A City District Government of Lahore team on Thursday got a case registered against some senior officials, including the vice chancellor of the Lahore College for Women University, after it found dengue larvae at various spots on the varsity premises.

The governor also took notice of registration of a case against the varsity officials, summoning the VC on Friday (today).

Officials said a CDGL team led by MPAs Khwaja Imran Nazir and Chaudhry Shahbaz visited the university and found dengue larvae at various spots. After getting the samples and annihilating the breeding sites, the team reported the matter to the CDGL and recommended a legal action against senior officials.

The CDGL moved an application to the Civil Lines police who registered a case.

“On the CDGL’s application we have registered a case against some officials, including VC Dr Sabeeha Mansoor, for not making adequate cleanliness arrangements that caused breeding of dengue larvae at 12 spots, under the Dengue Act,” Civil Lines SP Abdul Qadir Qamar told Dawn. — Staff Reporter
