Kamran Akmal to lead Pakistan in Super Sixes

LAHORE: Pakistan on Monday named wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal to lead the side's defence of the Hong Kong Super Sixes title later this month.

Pakistan face arch-rivals India, Sri Lanka and the Netherlands in Pool B of the eight-team tournament, with Australia, England, South Africa and Hong Kong in Pool A.

Pakistan beat England in last year's final to secure their fifth title in the tournament, first staged in 1992.

The event will be held on October 27 and 28. The teams consist of six players with one player as substitute.

Squad:

Kamran Akmal (captain), Umar Akmal, Owais Zia, Hammad Azam, Yasir Shah, Junaid Khan, Tanveer Ahmed.

Don't pay your taxes and you'll be promoted. That's the normal theme in Pakistan, I guess :) Last month there was an article about Kamran Akmal from FBR that he hasn't paid a single penny in taxes since he started playing Cricket. What a shame!

These two brothers are more sincere to each other rather than country. These persons should be banned in all forms of cricket. However our biased board has made the more culprit as captain

I think Nasir Jamshed & Ahmad shahzad would have been better choice in place of Owais zia & Tanveer Ahmed for this form of cricket

All PCB contracted players have taxes deducted at source by PCB. The article was about not filing tax return which more than half of the country don't do. The only tax evasion he might be doing is on the earning from domestic competitions in Pakistan. No taxes are to be paid on foreign earnings i.e. IPL etc.

No Riaz, the new report said that Kamran has not filed tax return, there is difference in not paying tax and not filing return. In fact reports said that all cricketrs have paid taxes.

Another tournament ? We had World cup and followed by T20 world cup. How many more tournaments do we want ? It appears every cricket playing country will be champion in one format.

Oh Man! What happened to Nasir Jamshed? Why not Umar Akmal? The two in-form players capable of hitting sixes are not on the roster. And yes, Sohail Tanvir should have been picked in place of Tanweer Ahmed. I would even buy Umar Gul in the line up given his recent batting performance. Then again, we should applaud PCB for not selecting Imran Farhat and Shoaib Malid, the under-performing constant faces in the greens.

Tanvir Ahmed is a test player but treated extremely unfairly by PCB. Same is Khalid Latif and Fawad Alam, both test players inserted in T20 to make them look bad. Kamran Akmal will play for Pakistan as long as he is alive, dropping catches and batting poorly. Kamran Akmal and PCB are in some sort of illigitimate affair !!!
