ISLAMABAD: A meeting of Senate’s standing committee over law and justice has been summoned on Monday, DawnNews reported.

The debate over the 22nd amendment bill was expected in the meeting. The bill, presented in the Senate,  aims to prevent the disqualification of the dual–national lawmakers.

The bill was presented in the Senate and it was forwarded to the standing committee over law and justice which comprises of 12 senators. The sources said that four out of 12 members were in support of the bill.

Senator Haji Adeel of the Awami National Party (ANP) and Senator Kulsoom Parveen were not the members of the committee but were given special invitations to attend the meeting, sources added.
