KARACHI, Oct 11: Mohammad Yaqoob produced a grand all-round performance in helping Punjab CC to a narrow 11-run victory over Asghar Ali Shah CC in the Mehdi Hasan Memorial KCCA Inter-club cricket tournament fixture at the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium here on Wednesday.

Yaqoob first compiled a fine 100 off 130 balls with the aid of 10 boundaries and a brace of sixes as Punjab CC made 220 in 38 overs. He then claimed three wickets for 33 runs with his slow left-armers to restrict he home side to 209 in 39.1 overs.

Alam Khurshid Shah, another left-arm spinner, starred with excellent figures of five for 13 but his heroics proved futile since his team Metropolitan CC suffered a four-wicket defeat against Rangers CC at the TMC Ground.

Mohammad Shahbaz scored 71 with eight boundaries and leg-spinner Ali Arshad bagged four wickets for 20 runs as Nazimabad Youngsters comfortably prevailed over Union Sports by 74 runs at the Pak Star Ground.
