LAHORE: Former federal minister for parliamentary affairs Dr Sher Afgan Niazi passed away in Mianwali on Thursday, DawnNews reported.
Niazi was suffering from liver cancer for last six months.
He served as a federal minister for parliamentary affairs during former president General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf rule and was senior-vice president of his party, All Pakistan Muslim League (APML.)
However, due to differences within the party ranks he resigned from its membership last year.
Niazi started his political career from Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and was elected to the National Assembly in 2002. He had later joined Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) before joining the APML.
