KARACHI, Oct 9: Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has condemned the recent attacks on members of the Sindh Assembly and leaders of the Pakistan People’s Party and said such dastardly acts cannot terrify the leaders and workers of the PPP.

Referring to the attacks at the homes of party lawmakers and leaders, in a statement, the minister termed the attacks against the traditions of Sindh and part of a conspiracy to harm democracy.

Mr Memon said opposition to the government was a democratic right of everybody, but such “cowardly acts” could not be tolerated. “We don’t want to fight anyone, but our gesture of peace should not be taken as weakness,” he added.

The minister said if certain people had objection to the new local bodies law, they should convey it to the government through dialogue.

He said the PPP’s public meeting in Hyderabad on Oct 15 would be a historic rally and would once again prove that the people were with the PPP.
