LAHORE, Oct 8: The Lahore golf team defeated their Delhi counterparts 15-6 in the first contest titled ‘Together We Golf Team’ at the Lahore Gymkhana course here on Sunday.

The competition was fought over three days, with the hosts winning three matches on the first day, seven on the second and five on the final day. And as a result they accumulated 15 points againt Delhi team’s six as the host team took advantage of home conditions.

The Indians did try to make a match of it and noticeable was the effort of golfers like Man Mohan Singh, Vijay Dhawan, Maj Gen(r) K.N.S. Shergill, Ashok Singh Malik, Ashwani Luthra and the only lady Bubbles Suneja.

However, the visitors could not match the consistency displayed by the host team that comprised Shoaib Bokhari, Asad I.A. Khan, Moeen Salahuddin, Mian Asad Hameed, Maj Babri, Lt Gen(r) Sabahat Hussain, Imran Mairaj, Amir Mahmood, Raja Asif Mehdi, Mohammad Ramzan Sheikh, Sardar Murad Khan, Asad Amin Sheikh, Asad Alam and Sameea Javed Ali.—Sports Reporter
