PESHAWAR, Oct 5: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Masood Kausar has said that engaging people of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) in positive political activities is a welcoming sign.
Referring to the move of a particular party for arranging a rally in South Waziristan, the governor, however, said that things needed to be considered and judged in line with ground realities, which demanded extra care on part of all concerned.
In a statement issued here on Friday, he said that the administration of South Waziristan Agency was very much conscious of its responsibilities and would never disappoint while fulfilling its duty.
He described active political activities in Fata as a positive development towards mainstreaming of people of the area at the national level and said that the government would encourage and promote any constructive step from any political force and make that a real success.
The governor said that President Asif Ali Zardari deserved credit for enforcing Political Parties Order in Fata. He said that people of Pakistan, especially of Fata, would always remember this bold initiative of the president.
He said that it was because of continuous efforts of the present government and supreme sacrifices rendered by people of Fata and security forces that peace prevailed in Fata.
Therefore, it would only be in the interest of democracy and people of Fata that success so far achieved in this regard must be safeguarded at all costs, he said.
Mr Kausar said that any political activity in Fata was welcome, but the negative elements should not be provided an opportunity to exploit the situation by sabotaging such political activities and endangering life and property of the participants. —Bureau Report
