SUKKUR, Sept 22: At least 200 villages were inundated on Saturday when a breach in the Garhi Hassan canal in Thull taluka of Jacobabad district widened by around 150 feet.

The villages which came under water included Aslam Khoso, Bhooral Gabol, Rehmatullah Khoso, Madad Pur, Zangi Pur, Imtiaz Khoso, Faiz Mohammad, Mithal Khan, Ghulam Hyder Tanwari, Haji Ellahi Bux Solangi, Bisham Brohi, Khalid Khoso, Shafique Khoso, Jawed Khoso, Aamir Khoso and Bahadur Pur.

Irrigation Department officials said the breach had occurred because rainwater from drains of Balochistan had been released into the canal.
