GHOTKI: Four minor boys were drowned while bathing in an irrigation canal in Ghotki district on Friday evening.

Reports from village Jhanpur, near Mirpur Mathelo, four minor boys including two brothers Muzmil Hussain Malhan and Zameer Ahmed Malhan and two of their cousins Abid Hussain Malhan and Abdul Karim were drowned in Qazi waha, an irrigation distributary, while they were bathing.

Abid Hussain, the eldest of the victims, tried to save the drowning boys but he was also swept away by the strong currents.

The bodies of the boys, after being recovered, were handed over to relatives, police officials informed the local media representatives.
