Govt raises petrol, CNG prices

ISLAMABAD: Government on Sunday decided to increase the prices of petrol and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), DawnNews reported.

Sources said that the prices were increased on the demand of petroleum companies.

According to the approval, per litre petrol price has been raised by 6.82 rupees. Prices of high octane and kerosene oil has been raised by 1.5 rupees and 62 paisas respectively.

The price of petrol is now 106.72 rupees, while the price of high octane is now 137.96 rupees.

Meanwhile the prices of high speed diesel and light diesel were reduced by 1.75 rupees and 14 paisas respectively.

Increment in CNG prices was also approved by the petroleum ministry. In region-I, which includes Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtukhwa and Pothohar, prices of CNG were raised by 6.24 rupees per kg while in region-II, which includes Sindh and Punjab, CNG prices were raised by 5.70 rupees per kg.

The change in prices of petroleum product swill be effective from midnight.
