ROME: New AC Milan forward Bojan Krkic hinted on Thursday that his former coach at Barcelona, Pep Guardiola, could have a coaching position at the club in his sights.

Bojan, who admitted he spent four “dream” years at Barcelona prior to what turned out to be a less enjoyable 2011-12 season with Roma, completed a one-year loan move to last season's Serie A runners-up on Wednesday.

After admitting he simply wanted to play regularly again, the Spaniard -- whose father is Serbian and mother Spanish -- said he had been told of Guardiola's interest in Milan.

“My years at Barcelona are a big help. I spent four dream years there. I played with Messi, Iniesta and Xavi, which helped me a lot,” Bojan said at his official unveiling in Milan, according to www.legaseriea.it.

“I haven't heard from Guardiola. Someone from Barca said he wanted to come here, but I can't say who. I speak a lot with them (people from Barcelona) and they're very happy for me.”

Bojan's signing preceded that of Dutch defensive midfielder Nigel de Jong, who was expected to arrive in Italy from Manchester City later on Thursday.

Both signings will go some way to soothing the Rossoneri fans' pain of losing centre-back Thiago Silva and striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, both to Paris Saint-Germain, and several other key players, including new Inter Milan striker Antonio Cassano.

Bojan cost Roma 12 million euros ($15 million) last year, but a clause in his contract means Barcelona must buy him back next summer for 13 million euros.

Barcelona stated on Wednesday that the loan deal between Roma and Milan does not change their existing agreement.

For the player, meanwhile, it is a chance for a fresh start.

Along with Juventus, Milan are one of only two Serie A clubs in this season's Champions League, following Udinese's elimination in the play-off round.

After admitting he was a big fan of recently retired Milan striker Filippo Inzaghi, Bojan said he would be happy to make his stay in Milan permanent.

“I didn't play much for Roma and arriving here at Milan is a step forward for me,” added the 22-year-old, who scored seven goals in 33 Serie A appearances last season.

“It's a club with a lot of history; I used to go crazy for Inzaghi. I'm not scared of anything, not even getting here after Ibrahimovic.

“It wasn't an easy year in Rome, but I learned a lot. I want to do well and help the team. I want to stay after the loan period.”
