Woman commits suicide

CHAKWAL, Aug 24: A woman ended own and her five-month-old son’s life by allegedly jumping into a well in Suka village in Talagang tehsil here on Friday.

Sources claimed that Humera Bibi was suffering from depression caused by a dispute with her in-laws. They said that fed up with the situation she along with her minor son jumped into a well near her house and died. The villagers later recovered their bodies from the well. — A Correspondent

One killed in road accident

ATTOCK, Aug 24: A man was killed and two others were seriously injured in a road accident near Durnol village on Fatehjang-Pindigheb road.

Police said two pickups were collided due to reckless driving on Thursday night. As a result, Muhammad Ibrahim died on the spot while three Aqil, Faheem and Mukhtair sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the local hospital. — Correspondent

Tax returns

RAWALPINDI, Aug 24: The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has demanded of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to extend the submission of sales tax return date, as majority of the business community has yet to file their returns.

RCCI President, Jawed Akhtar Bhatti stated this while chairing a meeting with the traders and industrialists in the Chamber, here on Friday. Senior Vice President Raja Amer Iqbal, Vice President Chaudhary Iqbal Ahmed and other members of the Chamber were also present on the occasion.

Bhatti said that online forms for filing the returns were available just a day before Eid and it was not possible for everyone to file their returns on due date, which was August 24.— A Reporter
