KARACHI: Police sources on Monday disclosed the suspected involvement of one group in incidents of violence in Karachi’s Central district that had claimed 10 lives on the Friday, DawnNews reported.

A preliminary report of investigation into the killings was submitted to the Inspector General (IG) Sindh police.

The report said that a group comprising of six armed persons on three motorcycles was involved in all the incidents.

Similar weapons and ammunition was used in all three incidents, added the report.

The report further said that the involvement of a banned outfit was suspected in the killings.

Three people associated to a religious party were shot dead in North Karachi’s 5C-4 area.

Moreover,  six people were injured when gunmen on motorcycles opened fire at a teahouse in North Karachi’s ‘Disco Morr’ area, five of whom succumbed to their injuries later.

In anothererlated incident two persons were killed when gunmen opened indiscriminate fire at the reception office of a Mosque located at Sharah-e-Pakistan in Karachi’s Federal B. Area.

IG Sindh Fayyaz Leghari had summoned the detail reports of the incidents and told all the Superintendent Police (SP’s) of the city that he would personally monitor the Karachi’s security.
