SHIKARPUR, Aug 19: Sindh Local Government Minister Agha Siraj Durrani has said a formula for the new local government law will be announced in agreement with the coalition partners after Eidul Fitr and date for local bodies elections will be announced soon.

He said PPP would contest LB and general elections jointly with its allies.

He said that Pir Pagara, Chief of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional, being a coalition partner, had committed that he would not join any anti-PPP alliance.

Pir Pagara made the commitment when President Asif Ali Zardari visited him, he said while talking to journalists at an iftar-dinner hosted by the district president Mir Babal Khan Bhayo at Bhayo House on Saturday evening.

He rejected reports that an anti-PPP alliance would be formed under the leadership of Pir Sahab Pagara.

He said the government would complete its term despite opposition’s negative attitude against the coalition. He said the PPP would emerge victorious in elections with the support of allies and also form the next government.

He described the work of the Northern Sindh Urban Sanitation Corporation (NSUSC) in Shikarpur and some other districts of Sindh as disappointing. He said he would approach the Sindh government not to renew its contract with the NSUSC.

He said that all illegal lease orders of government plots/lands issued by former nazims in Sindh would be cancelled.
