UETTA, Aug 10: District and Sessions Judge Jaffarabad Aimal Khan Bazai sentenced on Friday former speaker of the Balochistan Assembly Mir Zahoor Hussain Khosa to two years in prison for possessing a fake degree. He was also fined Rs5,000.

He was arrested after the court ruling and taken to the district jail in Dera Murad Jamali.

Mr Khosa contested the 2008 general election as an independent candidate and was elected MPA from Dera Allah Yar. He later joined the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.

The Supreme Court had disqualified him last year and ordered registration of a case against him.
