QUETTA, Aug 6: A division bench of the Balochistan High Court directed the Quetta Development Authority on Monday to demolish the two rooms built in a public park by Senior Minister Maulana Abdul Wasay for his guards.

The bench, comprising Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, asked the QDA management to charge the minister for the cost of demolition and transportation of the debris.

The court said the construction of the rooms on the park land contravened Articles 9, 14, 25 and 26 of fundamental rights conferred by chapter I and part II of the Constitution. It said the QDA authorities should have taken action in pursuant to its laws and cleared the encroachment.
