LAHORE: Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa has said that the Pakistan Peoples Party is a symbol of unity of the federation, that is why it is pursuing reconciliation policy in the country.

The governor was addressing an Iftar party hosted by Federal Minister for National Heritage and Integration Samina Khalid Ghurki at a local hotel on Sunday.

The governor said that the PPP had won every by-election, which showed its popularity in the country.

He further said that the PPP was playing a great role for the promotion and strengthening of democracy. The public has given a decision in favour of the PPP and they are the real judge, he added.

He hoped that the PPP would win the next general election and again serve the people.

Senator Ghulam Bakhsh Chandio said that the rulers in Punjab had made the prosperous province into a bankrupt one.

He said that the PML-N was criticizing the PTI for taking turncoats into its fold but the PML-N itself was full of turncoats.

Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Raja Riaz Ahmed said that the PPP would form the government in Punjab after the next general election as said by President Asif Ali Zardari.

He further said that the Punjab chief minister could not become a great leader by wearing shirts like Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. He criticized the Punjab government for its poor policies.
