LAHORE: On the directions of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif, Secretary General Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has suspended the basic membership of PML-N Youth Wing President Capt (R) Muhammad Safdar and issued him a show cause notice.

Impolite and irresponsible statements of Capt (R) Muhammad Safdar against party leaders have been mentioned in the show cause notice as the reason for formation of groupings within the party.

Safdar, who also happens to be PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law, has been asked to reply to the notice within 10 days.

It is pertinent to mention that Capt (R) Muhammad Safdar had, in recent days, made critical speeches against party leaders Sardar Mehtab and Pir Sabir Shah.
