KARACHI, July 24: Former international cricketer Moin-ul-Atiq has joined the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as sports psychologist and motivational speaker.

“I have done a few courses in sports psychology and hold a [masters] degree in sports management from England and therefore I will be using my experience to help players overcome their problems,” Moin, 47, said on Tuesday after joining the PCB office here at the National Stadium.

“Being a former international cricketer myself, it will be relatively easier for me to understand the problems of the players and help them overcome them,” Moin, who played five One-day Internationals from 1988 to 1989 for Pakistan, said.

He said that he had conducted motivational assignments on Pakistan’s under-15 squad for the West Indies tour a couple of years ago and was engaged again by the board for its under-19 players at different regional academies across the country.

Insisting sports psychology and sports management were major subjects across the current sports world, Moin said he was looking forward to play his role for the benefit of Pakistan players at all levels.—APP
