RAWALPINDI, July 16: Some unidentified robbers struck at three different places in the city and took away over Rs530, 000 in cash, gold jewellery and seven cell phones, police said on Monday.

Zia Mohyuddin, a robbery victim, complained to police that he was on way to home along with his mother when three unidentified gunmen blocked their way and forced them to give up cash and other valuables.

He said the robbers fetched gold jewellery from his mother and Rs8, 000 from him and later disappeared in the dark.

Mohammad Luqman, another robbery victim, complained to the police that three unidentified persons forced their way into his house in Westridge and took his family at gunpoint.

He said the robbers searched the house and stole Rs250, 000 in addition to gold jewellery weighing 10 tolas and three cell phones and later escaped after locking them in a room.

Mohammad Rehan, who runs a private business at Bagh Sardaran, lodged a similar complaint with police that he was robbed of Rs280, 000 and four cell phones after four unidentified gunmen entered into his office and took his staff at gunpoint.

He said the gunmen escaped with the loot after locking all of the staff members inside the office.
