SCHEME 33, comprising various housing societies, was initially approved in order to provide for adequate housing needs of various segments of society on a self-help basis.

The scheme, after a long passage of time, is still underdeveloped for various factors which, inter alia, include the difficult access from the main road or side/link roads, the law and order situation, and illegal occupation. Above all, the lack of will on the part of the local administration to provide necessary assistance to the members is also a cause for the stagnant situation of the scheme.

The All Pakistan Newspaper Employees Cooperative Housing Society, and other societies such as Bijnnor Cooperative Housing Society, Sahafi Cooperative Housing Society and Teachers Cooperative Housing Society are also situated in this scheme and have common borders.

There are also adjacent societies which have fallen prey to illegal occupation due to the negligence by appropriate authorities. The road leading to these societies is totally damaged and thus with the passage of time has become unusable.

Even minibuses and other transport, previously passing through this road, have stopped their operation which has seriously affected the inhabitants of the surrounding areas, while also society members cannot visit and thus no construction can be initiated without the adequate and proper usable road.

These four societies have jointly approached the Project Director, Scheme-33, Karachi, requesting construction of the most needy road for these societies.

We request the relevant authorities to start construction of the road linking the APNEC Housing Society and adjacent societies so that construction activities could start.
