KARACHI, June 11: The committee set up by the Karachi University vice chancellor to re-evaluate the recently announced results of the MBBS and bachelor of dental surgery (BDS) has found no irregularity in the results, a university press release has said.

The committee included dean faculty of medicine Prof Dr S.M. Abbas, secretaries of board of studies of medical and dental, controller of examinations and experts from the Dow University of Health Sciences and the Ziauddin Medical University.

The convener and subject experts, according to the press release, checked and verified table of specifications, key validity of anatomy and biochemistry in both MBBS part-A and BDS-I examinations, besides going through other examinati on details. But they found no irregularity or error in the system.

“Since the results are found flawless, justified and transparent. It is, therefore, suggested that they be considered final,” it said. The committee, however, suggested a common entry-test for admissions to overcome a disparity in results which, according to the members, existed on account of great variation in criteria for admissions to different colleges.

It may be mentioned here that the committee was set up after a large number of MBBS and BDS part-1 students had failed in their exams and staged protest demonstrations.
