LALAMUSA: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Qamar Zaman Kaira said on Friday that Pakistan was a responsible state and taking special measures to curb terrorism in the country.

Addressing a gathering at Ali Chak after inaugurating Sui gas supply scheme he said: “We are not afraid of threats because we belong to that party whose leader (Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Shaheed) had not compromised on nuclear programme despite the international pressure and he sacrificed his life for the purpose.”

He said, Benazir Bhutto Shaheed was also asked to roll back the missile programme and was offered a huge amount for the purpose, but she also did not compromise.

“It is the PPP government which stopped the Nato supply,” he said and added that government of Musharraf, Muslim League and a religious party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could not do the same.

“We will not compromise on the sovereignty of the country and we cannot tolerate attack on our soldiers. Our every child is ready to lay down his life for defence of the country,” he said.

Kaira said “We are also victim of terrorism and want to root out this menace from the country.”
