PESHAWAR, June 2: A resident of Upper Dir’s Usherai village, Gul Zareen, on Saturday demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and inspector general of police to help him in recovery of his sister, who went missing in mysterious circumstances while her husband and the local police were not cooperating with him in tracing her.

Talking to media persons here, Mr Zareen said that his only sister was married to one Ibrahim of Usurai village eight years ago. “Mr Ibrahim would often subject my sister to violence for they had no children and ultimately she was forced to sit at my home,” he said.  Mr Zareen said that in the meantime elders of the area, Yar Mohammad, Amir Dost Khan, Bacha Anwar and Shamas Khan, took his sister to her husband’s house on personal surety.

Mr Zareen said that after some days when he went to her sister’s house, Mr Ibrahim told him that she had left the house telling him that she was going to her brother’s house.

Mr Zareen claimed that during investigation from the villagers a local medical technician told him that his sister was injured with axe and she died due to bleeding. He said that Mr Ibrahim was not ready to tell the truth about the whereabouts of her sister or admit to the crime.

He said that the local police called the accused and elders to the police station, but avoided registration of FIR against them. The complainant demanded of the government and the IGP to order investigation into the case and arrest the accused.
