MARDAN, June 1: Women have complained about ‘failure’ of various government departments in solving their grievances.

They said the development process initiated by the chief minister was being spoiled by the inefficiency of various departments, including police, Nadra, Wapda, BISP, health, education. They also criticised some local ANP leaders for failing to resolve their problems.

They were speaking at a Khuli Kachehri organised by the Mardan chapter of Awami National Party’s women wing here the other day. A large number of women were present on the occasion.

The ANP MNA Himayat Ullah Mayar, district president Farooq Akram Khan, women wing district president Rashido Bibi, district general secretary Shabeena Tariq, Kausar Bibi, Gulzara, Shah Nazar and Rafaqat Begum, besides officials of government departments, attended the Kulhi Kachehri.

The women pointed out that due to negligence on part of these departments the people, especially women, had been suffering.

They alleged that these departments had not been taking interest to resolve women’s problems.

Some women on the occasion also complained against the president of Awami National Party in PK-24 constituency for not even listening to their woes.

They demanded of the authorities concerned to not only take keen interest in resolving their issues but also give them due status in the society.

MNA Himayat Ullah Mayar assured the women that their problems would be resolved on priority basis. ANP district president Farooq Akram Khan promised that the demands of women would be brought into the notice of Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti.—Correspondent
