KARACHI, May 23: The ministers in the Sindh cabinet belonging to the Pakistan People’s Party have condemned the incidents of firing on Tuesday in Karachi and expressed their deep sorrow and grief over casualties and loss of property.

The ministers at a meeting presided over by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah at the CM’s House on Wednesday were reviewing the overall situation in the province.

They warned people of conspiracies against Sindh and observed that the Sindh Assembly had already resolved for unity, integrity and solidarity of Sindh and there would be no place for hatred, difference and opposition to the wishes and aspirations of the people and such attempts would be fully foiled with the support of the people.

The chief minister while highlighting salient features of the next budget in the meeting said that the budget would be ‘people-friendly’.

He said that the present government had so far delivered during four years of governance and there would be relief and benefit in the budget for the common people, poor workers, peasants and the general public at large. The ministers resolved that in view of the current sensitive situation, the party ministers, leaders and workers ought to be more careful and should not provide any opportunity to succeed those who wanted to disturb peace, create misunderstandings to sabotage the ‘positive’ acts of the present government.

The participants in the meeting expressed their firm belief that all political parties were cooperating and working according to the vision of peaceful coexistence and political conciliation.

Recapping the history of hatred and distances among political parties, the participants in the meeting noted that at present there prevailed the spirit of coordination, cooperation, coexistence and reconciliation among many of them and the time would prove that only the conciliation policy could steer the country out of crises.

They recalled that it was the conciliation policy which led to resolve amicably all important issues like the Kalabagh Dam, NFC Award and other issues.

The participants in the meeting observed that opponents of the government were misguiding the nation with false and baseless propaganda.

The meeting also decided to pay compensation to legal heirs of those who were killed and injured during the Tuesday violence.

Senior Minister for Education Pir Mazharul Haq, Agha Siraj Durrani, Ayaz Soomro, Syed Ali Nawaz Shah, Mukesh Kumar Chawla, Dr Daya Ram Israni, Dr Mohan Lal, Nadeem Bhutto, Syed Murad Ali Shah, Agha Taimoor Pathan, Syed Ali Nawaz Shah Rizvi, Sharjeel Enam Memon, Syed Ali Mardan Shah, Sadiq Ali Memon, Akhtar Hussain Jadoon, Sassui Palijo, Shazia Atta Marri, Nargis N.D. Khan, Zahid Hussain Bhurgari, Rafique Engineer, Haji Muzaffar Shujra and others attended the meeting.
