KARACHI: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf leaders, during a press conference at Karachi Press Club, termed the government responsible for Wednesday's deadly killings in Karachi and the loss to public property.

They said that it was indeed sad to say that the government, its allies and now Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), is trying to take political benefits from the worsening law and order situation in Lyari.

Speakers, including Secretary General PTI Dr. Arif Alvi, President PTI Sindh Sardar Nadir Akmal Khan Leghari, Deputy Secretary General PTI Imran Ismail and others, said that it was not possible the government and its allies were unaware of the huge rally, wall chalking and banners everywhere in the city demanding for a Mohajir province.

The PTI members also questioned as to how a rally demanding a Mohajir province can comfortably go into the red zone and stay there for hours, when an anti-Mohajir province rally gets attacked even as it was far away from the red zone and press club.

They said that they consider the government and its allies, along with their friendly opposition, equally responsible for the killings of innocent citizens.

They further said that a Suo Moto notice from the Supreme Court must be taken to stop the killings of innocent people in Karachi.
