LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif on Friday said that his party does not consider Yousuf Raza Gilani as the prime minister after his conviction by the Supreme Court in contempt of court case.

Speaking to media representatives in Kasur, the PML-N chief reiterated that his party would continue with its struggle for the rule of law and democracy in the country.

Declaring the current rulers incompetent, he again demanded for transparent early elections. “Pakistan comes first for me…but the current rulers only care about their personal gains,” Sharif added.

He demanded the Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) leadership to leave the government by accepting their “incompetence.”

Commenting on US apology for the salala check posts attack, Sharif said, “No one apologises to beggars.”

When asked about creation of new provinces, the party chief said that when the PPP talks about dividing Punjab province, it has “ulterior motives.” However, the PML-N has its prime focus set on interest of Pakistan only. “We would never call nor support division of Sindh,” he added.

Moreover, the PML-N chief looked lethargic when asked about PM Gilani and said he does not even like to respond to him (Gilani) daily.
