LAHORE, May 17: A 27-year-old man was killed and three others were injured in firing by their friends near Regal Chowk in Qila Gujjar Singh here on Thursday.

Police said Bilal Ahmad of Faiz Bagh, Misri Shah, died in firing by his friends who went to a cold drink shop under the influence of liquor and quarreled over sharing drinks.

The firing left Bilal, shopkeeper Shan and two passers-by Mobeen and Saleem injured. They were rushed to Mayo Hospital where Bilal died.

Local people managed to capture a suspect identified as Yasir and handed him over to the police.

Police said Bilal, who worked at a tanoor, was wanted in several cases.

STRANGLED: A woman was found murdered in her house in Miraaj Park locality of Shahdara on Thursday.

Police said unidentified suspect(s) also took away cash and jewellery from the house of Altaf Hussian, who worked at a car showroom in Islamabad.

Preliminary police findings suggested that the suspect(s) had an enmity with the family of deceased women in Faisalabad.

Asias brother Arif told police that his father had also been strangled by their rivals six years ago.

COMMITS SUICIDE: A 17-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself with a ceiling fan in Paikhaywala village, Wahdat Road, on Thursday.

Police said Musarrat Shaheen quarreled with her mother before committing suicide. Police handed over the body to the family after legal formalities.
