LAHORE: Following the Pakistan Muslim League -Nawaz’s announcement of a long march, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) has followed suit, threatening the government with the “biggest long march in history” if it fails to abide by the Supreme Court’s orders.

However, like PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif, PTI chairman Imran Khan also failed to specify a date for the march.

Speaking to a gathering of students at a private university in Lahore, the PTI chief on Monday called for not only Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s resignation, but stressed that President Asif Ali Zardari should also surrender his post at the same time.

Khan said that the leaders of all political parties had started preparing their sons and daughters for the upcoming general elections.

Claiming that the PTI did not believe in the “politics of inheritance”, Khan said he hoped to hand over the party's leadership to the youth.

Moreover, the former cricketer also criticised Nawaz Sharif, accusing him of “two-faced” politics.

If the Nawaz League is sincere then they should resign from the assemblies, he added.
