MADRID: Jose Mourinho has declared that he has no ambition to coach in any new countries after Real Madrid's La Liga success gave him a haul of league titles from four different countries.

Madrid secured the Spanish title with a 3-0 win at Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday, adding to the league titles that Mourinho previously won with Porto (Portugal), Chelsea (England) and Inter Milan (Italy).

“I've now won the titles important to me – the one in my country and the three biggest ones in Europe,” Mourinho told Portuguese television channel SIC, in comments reproduced in the Spanish media on Thursday.

“I don't have any ambition to win in another country. There's no other country that interests me.”

Mourinho's success with Madrid gave him access to an exclusive club of managers to have won league titles in four different countries, alongside Italy's Giovanni Trapattoni, Ernst Happel of Austria and Croatian Tomislav Ivic.

In his interview, the 49-year-old Portuguese also addressed critics who prefer the intricate football practised by Barcelona, the side that Madrid deposed as Spanish champions.

“My team played some of the best football in history,” said Mourinho, whose side have scored a Spanish-record 115 goals with two games of the season still to come.

“But there are some luminaries who believe that only one type of football exists on earth. But these people only know football through Google. They swallow knowledge, but know nothing.”

Mourinho did, however, pay tribute to Barcelona and said he was looking forward to resuming hostilities with the Catalans next season.

“There's more merit in winning against a team like them,” he said.

“They're a great club and they will remain so. We'll keep working and next year we'll try to win it again.”
