Bangladesh unlikely to tour Pakistan: BCB

KARACHI: According to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), it is unlikely that Bangladesh will tour Pakistan now even if the Dhaka High Court gives the go-ahead after four weeks because of other international commitments, Dawn News reported.

Talking exclusively to Dawn News, a spokesman for the BCB said that the decision not to tour Pakistan is not part of a conspiracy. He further added that the BCB was still waiting for a copy of the stay order from the Dhaka High Court.

Bangladesh were scheduled to play one ODI and one Twenty20 in Lahore at the end of April. The tour was postponed due to security concerns and because Pakistan had failed to submit a security plan to the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Had the tour gone ahead, Bangladesh would have been the first international team to tour Pakistan in three years.

The spokesperson also said the notion that BCB's lawyer had not defended the tour to Pakistan in the hearing at the Dhaka High Court was untrue.

He added that it was not fair that Bangladesh should go to Pakistan amid security concerns when it was playing "home series" with other teams on neutral venues.

Pakistan deserves fully support from BCB and they should be supporting 200% to us as prove of loyalty and sincerity with Pakistan as we supported them to upgrade their status to Test Cricket. They forgot but we remember and the true face of BCB is now in front of entire world. Shame on you BCB.

Assalam-u-Alaikum to all. The decision of BCB not to coming Pakistan exposes the thoughts and jealousy for Pakistan which was clearly in front of entire world when Pakistan won the Asia Cup 2012 than they started burning and re-acted to the ICC. This is a big game against Pakistan Cricket, let me tell all of you, aren't thousands of foreigners are living in Pakistan with cool and calm situation? Aren’t they openly go out at any time to any place? How many foreigners have been killed during last few days or months? Than why the security is a monster issue for Cricket in Pakistan? British University’s team visited Pakistan also Afghanistan, aren’t they human being or outsiders? INSHA’ALLAH Pakistan League will take place in Pakistan and International Cricket will come back and we will show the BCB without begging them we can get out goal, INSHA’ALLAH. Don’t be disappointed guys, good time is about to touch. :-) Pakistan Zindabad.

This is not fair for all the sport lovers of the world !!! Shame on the corrupted and money, fame hungry politicians as to allow the situation to come to this level, all the sport fans are decieved , I know cricket is unstoppable in Pakistan it will happen again but sooon I hope. How can Pakistani Government guarantee safety of international players while they can’t make sure their own citizens are safe? And height of hypocrisy that they are willing to provide safety to foreigners and not to their own?

Pakistan should not bend over to bring BD team for home series, as countries like Australia, NZ and India would still not come to Pakistan. The best is to wait a little more till Pakistan's security situation is effectively stabilized.A visit by BD will not convince others to Play in Pakistan. Learn from Sri Lanka, as its security situation improved they have teams playing on their home grounds

Maybe it's better to provide security for your people who get killed every moment. I think trying to provide security to another nations sportsmen is not that important. Priorities as usual are completely warped.

They are requesting South Africa to play against them...all expenses paid..whether in Bangladesh or South Africa! they have refused. They have no matches till the Twenty 20 world cup in September and they are saying they can't play us because of international commitments. Not saying they should come to Pakistan, Pakistan is not safe but at least come up with better reasons and on time.
