KARACHI: Sporadic firing on Friday killed seven people including an activist of Awami National Party (ANP) and an ASI police in Karachi, DawnNews reported.

Unidentified motorcycle riders near Baitul Mamur Mosque in Peerabad neigbourhood sprayed bullets and fled away from the scene. Hidayatullah Mehsood, a member of ANP Sindh Coucil was killed as a result.

The incident spread chaos in the locality and forced the owners to shut their shops and small businesses.

Moreover, indiscreet firing from unknown miscreants killed a man near Bilal Colony in Korangi.

Meanwhile, Orangi Town, Qasba Colony and Banaras including some other areas remained frenzied from erratic firing incidents started late on Thursday.

Two youths belonged to a political party also sustained injuries in Qasba Colony. The impetuous crowd set ablaze a motorcycle in reaction.

An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) police got killed in Garden area after an exchange of fire with unidentified miscreants.

In the latest development, three out of five people, who got injured in a firing incident near Banaras Chowk, succumbed to their wounds.

In a renewed wave of terror, nearly 15 people were shot dead, over 20 people got injured and over 50 vehicles set ablaze in the past three days, following killings of a senior Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and an ANP worker in the violence-ridden city.
