This was the second season of lawn for designer Hira Lari showing under the Afroze Textiles banner with a fashion presentation opening a three-day exhibition that saw people arriving in droves at The Palm, Karachi, no doubt with an eye on attending the ramp show featuring fashion models Iraj, Fawzia, Zeba, Koni, Maha, Sunita and others.

Hira has shown an increasing maturity in design with prints and cuts by focusing more on the commercial aspect in patterns and colours while inflencing her personal take on it. There was a sense of individuality in the opening outfit worn by Iraj with its rows of sheer fabric ruffles that went all the way down the front of the shirt or the shoulder-baring tweaked sleeves down to the wrists.

A particular mention here is the chocolate brown and blue outfit worn by model Koni where the shirt had loops running in from the side towards the front which seemed unique in its concept of aesthetic design and managed to score by a somewhat uncomfortably narrow margin.

The colour palette for the lawn collection revolved around red, sea-green, black, matte blue, brown and white with ever-popular contrasts such as red and white and black in a manner which lent it an edgy appeal. The length of the shirts remained long as is the popular fad with panels, while the dupattas complimented the overall outfits with their loud patterns.

The overall look for the collection remained light, breezy and trendy that should be the mood for lawn, and with minimal embellishments she managed to keep the price tag within reasonable limits which would undoubtedly fare well with women who go buy lawn shopping his summer.
