KARACHI, March 7: Danish Aziz gave a fine all-round performance as the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) beat the KESC by 30 runs in Inter-academy Under-17 Cricket Tournament at the RLCA Ground here on Monday night.

Promising Danish first made 24 runs, studded with one boundary and one six, and then captured three wickets for 17 runs with his left-arm spin to help the NBP Academy record a well-earned win.

Batting first, NBP Academy made 123 all out in their 20 overs. Rehmatullah top-scored with 37.

Mohammad Ali took four wickets for 18. In reply, KESC Academy made 93-9 off their quota of overs. Baqar struck 26 not out.

Besides Danish’s three-wicket burst, Tabrez Dyer and Hassan Khan claimed two apiece.

Earlier, chief selector Iqbal Qasim inaugurated the 10-team event organised by the Rashid Latif Cricket Academy (RLCA). Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif, KCCA President Siraj-ul-Islam Bokhari, Ejaz Farooqi, former Test cricketers Jalaluddin, Manzoor Elahi, Rashid Khan and other officials were also present on the occasion.
