The Lahore-based designer Faraz Manan who showed a stunning collection at the PFDC Loreal Bridal Week 2011 introduced a fantastic Crescent Lawn collection splashed on billboards all over Pakistan with Karisma Kapoor smiling down on onlookers as its brand ambassador.

The designer has taken the lawn fabric and embellished it with generous dori work along with printed panels and an array of vibrant hues of yellows, greens, blues and mute shades to put together an outfit that has a surreal effect just like the Bollywood star poised to make a comeback in films by reclaiming her lost throne from younger sis, superstar Kareena Kapoor.

A short yet snazzy fashion presentation was recently held at Café Flo in Karachi where models Sana Sarfaraz, Sana Khan, Monika, Saima Azhar, Saima Haroon, Sehrish Butt, Minal, Areeba and Sidra walked the makeshift ramp. The 17 designs featured had beautifully embellished embroideries with a generous use of chiffon and chickan kari. The interesting cuts and silhouettes were well-received by the select crowd.

“Good design for me has always revolved around beautiful yet wearable fabrics. Staying true to my design philosophy, I have designed this collection as a fusion between the classic and the contemporary.

“This collection maintains the essence of tradition blended with practicality to fit the modern woman’s wardrobe. Karisma, the star and the style icon, perfectly embodies this collection and carries it off with panache,” said Farooq Manan in an official statement.

Karisma Kapoor added to it by saying, “Very few creative movements catch my interest. This collection, however, is very special. It has all the elements that define my style—great designs and beautiful fabric. It has been a great experience wearing and representing Crescent Lawn by Faraz Manan.”
