LAHORE, March 1: The Higher Education Commission has asked the University of Health Sciences to participate in the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) World Universities Ranking to compete with other varsities of the world.

The HEC has recently declared the UHS first in the ranking of public sector medical universities and eight best in all other universities of the country.

HEC Chairman Dr. Javaid Laghari in a letter to the UHS has greeted the university for being ranked as the top medical university of Pakistan. “We see a strong possibility that the UHS may also qualify amongst the world’s leading universities in the QS ranking. I would therefore strongly urge the UHS to participate in the world ranking so that the university is rated among the best in the world,” Dr. Laghari said.

The chairman also said the UHS could take guidance in this regard from the director general (quality assurance) of the HEC.
