THE heart-wrenching scenes observed during the meeting of missing persons with their family made every sensible person of the country feel ashamed.
The disgusting, inhuman attitude towards the so-called suspects is terrifying. Even animals are not treated so roughly around the world as these people were treated by their captors.
There is a dire need for curtailing extra-judicial powers being vehemently exercised by some stubborn heads. While going for constitutional amendments for the sake of their own benefits, parliamentarians should at least ponder about the rights of common people. Abrogation of human rights in our country has become a norm for the government and mighty. Ordinary people face the wrath of different institutions for untold crimes.
These people, in the words of Chief Justice of Pakistan, are picked up like sitting ducks and terrorists strike at their will. What a pity! The mother of three missing persons died after meeting her two sons with the shock of grief. Who is responsible for her death? A question that will remain unanswered.
