PESHAWAR: According to the Special Power Ordinance, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Surgeon Dr Shakeel Afridi was dismissed from his post, along with four LHVs on Tuesday, DawnNews reported.

Dr Shakeel Afridi had allegedly helped to conduct a phony polio vaccination campaign at the behest of the CIA to secure the DNA of Osama bin Laden and his family.

Earlier, Dr. Shakeel’s wife, Imrana Ghafoor was also removed from her post. She was the principal of the Government Girls Degree College, Darra Adam Khel.

After the Abbottabad operation, the surgeon was arrested along with the four LVCs at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Torkham while escaping the country.

According to the government’s sources, showcause notices were issued to the surgeon and the four LHVs by the government’s health department and the summary was forwarded to the Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as a result of which the group was dismissed from their posts.

Previously, the Abbottabad commission, in a press release had barred all relevant people involved in the killing of Osama bin Laden from travelling abroad.

Additionally, a group of US Congressmen this month had sought American citizenship for jailed physician, Dr Shakeel Afridi.
