MULTAN, Feb 11: The four siblings who were burnt alive at Mauza Rana Wahan, Basti Malook, some 30 kilometres from here in an accidental house fire late on Friday, were laid to rest on Saturday.

Basti Malook police said that Karam Husain, a resident of Basti Khrala, Rana Wahan, and his wife Zahooran had gone to a nearby village to attend the funeral of his father, leaving their five children in the care of their grandmother (Zahooran’s mother).

The grandmother slept in a room along with one of the children while the others slept in another room where a heap of cotton was stored.

Late in the night, the cotton caught fire when a kerosene lamp fell on the heap. As a result, Rizwan (4), Farhan (5), Adnan (6) and Farhat (3) were burnt alive. Funeral prayers for the children were offered at Mauza Rana Wahan.—APP
