From the new wave of pop music in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the band Ismail and Junaid have recently been given a Young Achievers Award in music by the Tourism Corporation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP). Having only released two songs so far, Qarar (peace) and Ranra (light), they’ve managed to make a name for themselves within Pakistan and in Pakhtun communities abroad.

In a video the band released online about the receiving the awards they spoke about how such gestures serve to encourage people like them to come out and express themselves artistically. They also expressed their appreciation for the awards governing body and the love exhibited by their fans.

A ceremony for the awards was held in Peshawar recently and a total of eight awards were presented. The event aimed to celebrate excellence achieved achieved by the youth in the field of arts, entertainment and education in the province.
