KARACHI: The Sindh government has once again decided to impose a ban on pillion-riding in Karachi amid renewed wave of sectarian and ethnic killings, DawnNews reported.

Speaking to media representatives, Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Wasan announced that the ban will be in place till Rabi-ul-Awal 12 from midday Wednesday.

He said conspiracies were being hatched to disrupt law and order situation of the city. However, the government will soon get hold of it, he added.

The metropolis was witnessing a surge in target killings as 10 people died in the past 24 hours.

Moreover, he announced formation of a Joint-Investigation Team to probe the murder of MPA Mir Bakhtiar Domki’s wife and their daughter.

The ban would not be applicable on women, children under the age of 12 years, senior citizens, disabled persons, journalists, personnel of law enforcement agencies in uniform and employees of essential services.
