LAHORE, Jan 19: Ghaziabad investigation police have yet to arrest the accused who thrashed a raiding party and detained the officials at a room in Taj Bagh two days ago.

Ghaziabad police inquiries showed that ASI Karamat of Harbanspura investigation police got information that a cheque dishonour case (489-F) accused, Asif, was sitting at a shop in Taj Bagh area.

The ASI raided the place along with his three constables Aslam, Aqeel Abbas and Abdul Hameed and took the accused into custody on Tuesday last.

During the course of time, Asif’s father Altaaf reached the spot along with his 15 armed accomplices, snatched wallets, cell phones and weapons from the policemen, thrashed them, tied their hands and legs and detained them at a room.

A local alerted the Rescue 15 police about the incident following which officials of Harbanspura and Ghaziabad rushed to the spot, negotiated with the accused for two hours and got released their colleagues.

Officials came back without Asif and got registered a case against him, his father Altaaf and their 14 accomplices on the complaint of ASI Karamat.

A Ghaziabad investigation wing police official said Harbanspura and Ghaziabad policemen were conducting raids to arrest the accused.
