KARACHI, Jan 19: The ninth UBL Omni Karachi United Football League (KUFL) saw home team Baloch Mujahid beating Gulshan Soccer 3-0 at the Baloch Mujahid Stadium here on Wednesday evening.
The Group 'B' clash saw DFA Central champions Gulshan Soccer playing splendidly but they had themselves to blame for missing several chances. Baloch Mujahid's veteran winger Mohammad Hanif was the star of the show as he provided assistance in the scoring of all the three goals.
Gulshan Soccer's Ali Abidi, Abdullah Bashar, Adam Jee, Mahmood Shah and Kashif Zafar combined well but failed to find the target. Baloch Mujahid's defence of Nabi Bakhsh, Mohammad Nawaz, Salal Raza and goalkeeper Shahzad Ali stood firm in the opening exchanges.
Baloch Mujahid's patience paid off when a brilliant cross from Mohammad Hanif was easily converted by vet-eran striker Taj Mohammad in the 33rd minute to make it 1-0 at halftime.
Gulshan Soccer attempted to make amends in the second half but once again failed to convert their chances as Baloch Mujahid maintained their grip on the match.
Mohammad Hanif was in brilliant form as his two further crosses allowed Mohammad Nadeem and Yasin Ali to score past Gulshan's goalie Utaiba Sabir in the 76th and 88th minutes, respectively, as Baloch Mujahid went 3-0 up in the end.
The match was supervised by referees Shaukat Ali, Babar Khan and Chaudhry Sarfaraz with Abdul Karim as the match commissioner.
The win leaves Baloch Mujahid FC with 12 points from six games with Gulshan Soccer yet to open their account after four games.
