LAHORE, Jan 15: The Jamaat-i-Islami sees Sindh card slipping out of the People's Party hands as it claims that people are distancing themselves from the party.

JI Secretary-General Liaquat Baloch told a training workshop for the party cadre here on Sunday that there was more hatred for the PPP and President Asif Ali Zardari in Sindh as compared to other provinces as people there were pulling down the party's tri-colour flag from their rooftops and vehicles.

He asserted that the party would be unable to play the Sindh card in future.

He said Mr Zardari was a disputed person continuing as PPP co-chairman whileholding the office of the President despite court orders.

He said the JI was in contact with other political parties and its options included seat adjustments.

On the issue of MMA's revival he said, 'We'll have to take the nation into confidence after making amends for the past lapses. If certain parties remain in touch with the government and other parties in spite of being a part of the MMA, the religious alliance will suffer and won't be able to come up to the nation's expectations.

The JI secretary general said the memo scandal was the product of US mind and aimed at creating differences among the Pakistani people in or-der to prove this country a failed state.

He said the masses were losing faith in the judiciary for delay in the action against over 4,000 target killers and extortionists allegedly belonging to the MQM even after the scrapping of the NRO.

He said the nation wanted to know from the Chief Justice of Pakistan why the target killers and extortionists were still at large and why cases against them were not being reopened.

He said the current situation called for setting up of an independent election commission to hold fresh elections under an interim government as the people wanted a change.
